Stonehenge, under a 4 km wall of granite?

Ulsanbawi from Delpino

델피노에서 본 울산바위 · Goseong, Gangwon-do

Ulsanbawi is a 4 km granite ridge of Seoraksan. Legend says it set off from Ulsan to join Mount Geumgang, heard it was too late, and stopped right here. The lawn of the Delpino resort, with its Stonehenge-style stone gates and pruned pines, shows the whole ridge at once.

Local tipCome in the morning, when the sun lights up the rock face. To stand on top, hike from Seoraksan's Sogongwon entrance: 3.8 km one way, about 2 hours, with steep stairs at the end.
Getting thereAbout 20 min by taxi from Sokcho Express Bus Terminal to Sono Delpino in Toseong-myeon.
